Perfect, yes, absolutely

One of the books I chose to review for the Christmas issue of Chase Magazine was Perfect by Rachel Joyce. This is one of those stories which followed me around when I wasn't reading, nagging me until I picked it up again - and yet was almost too painful to read in parts.

But Perfect is also funny and satirical and it made me sigh with relief sometimes too - a five star read for me all the way.

Your turn! If I could ask for only one book for Christmas this year, what would you recommend?

  1. I haven't read many new books this year, but am enjoying Stephen Booth's crime series. Like most series it's best to start at the beginning.

I alos recently bought a good anthology called Stories for Homes, that was good :)

  2. Thanks Charlie. kind of you to say nice things about Stories for Homes - but now I feel even more guilty for buying Seven Daze and not getting to it yet - back log on Kindle (as I do tend to reach for paperbacks first, Luddite that I am) but I am looking forward to seeing what you've been beavering away at! I haven't heard of Stephen Booth I shall pay a visit to Mr Google.

  3. I have soo many books piled up to read, and soo many more that I want for Christmas, I can't pick just one. So many books so little time.

  4. Cathrina, I know that feeling! And now that I've finally succumbed to reading books on my iPad as well, I have a towering To Be Read pile on there as well! Thanks for your comment :)
